It’s Get Online Week and we’re thrilled to be supporting this fantastic initiative and helping our customers and communities thrive online!

We live in a digital world – one that is increasingly requiring us to do our daily tasks online – and despite all the exciting opportunities that presents, for some, the online universe is one that is out of reach, confusing and isolating.

From communicating with family and friends to online banking and shopping, as well as engaging with your landlord, Council, GP, energy provider and, well, pretty much anyone, the internet and online world is something we all must get to grips with.

However, as one of the most digitally excluded regions in the country, getting online just isn’t that simple for some people. For many reasons, from access to skills, affordability and lack of training it is estimated that 28% of people living in Knowsley and the Liverpool City Region can’t get online.

So, we know the scale of the problem and just how important it is to help the people of Knowsley get online – which is exactly why we’ve teamed up with some fantastic partners to introduce our customers to the wonders of the world wide web!

Throughout Get Online Week, we’ll be sharing some of the brilliant projects we have been part of and what we have achieved as part of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Digital Inclusion Initiative, the Good Things Foundation’s national campaign to end digital exclusion and poverty and Knowsley FACE Digital Drop-In sessions.

We’re pretty proud of everything we have worked to achieve over the past year and some highlights include:

  • delivered training and support to help 90 Livv customers get online through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Digital Inclusion Initiative
  • helped 178 Livv customers online with the Good Things Foundation
  • supported 314 customers to improve their digital skills
  • ran weekly digital drop-in sessions at our Inspired Living Scheme, Fairways and helped over 30 residents build their confidence to get online and use smartphones and tablets
  • supported Knowsley Council’s digital events, helping countless residents improve their digital skills and knowledge.
