Anti-social behaviour (ASB) awareness week starts today, Monday 29 June. We’re backing this campaign at events across our communities with the aim of making sure all our customers feel safe in their neighbourhood. Our slogan #LivvBetterTogether summarises our commitment to helping our customers flourish and sharing ways to be better neighbours.
The national campaign is led by the UK’s leading community safety organisation, Resolve. The theme for this year is #MakingCommunitiesSafer, which is part of our commitment to our customers. Together with partners, we’re not just looking to tackle ASB as it happens, we’re being proactive in targeting the causes too.
We’ve teamed up with local poet Joseph Roberts to highlight how small actions of kindness from our customers can help create thriving and safe communities. Here is a short film titled ‘A Better Neighbour’:
What’s on this week for ASB Awareness Week
Walkabouts in the community on Monday 29 June and Thursday 2 July
Our community safety teams will be in Huyton on Monday and Kirkby on Thursday this week, as we bring support to your door. Increasing our visibility in these areas alongside partners such as Merseyside Police helps us to learn more about ASB issues affecting our customers. Come and ask us any questions you may have if you see us around!
Poetry Expo on Friday 3 July
We’re thrilled to be attending the Poetry Expo right here in Liverpool once again. During the day, we’ll be meeting with school children to teach them what ASB is, the negative impact it has, and how they can talk to family and friends about ASB. This event is crucial to spread awareness of ASB issues such as vandalism and littering and to meet our aim of creating flourishing communities. This year’s theme is ‘Diversity and Inclusion’, with the events creative workshops and spoken word stages giving opportunity to unite cultures and create a sense of community. The event opens to members of the public in the evening and tickets are available here.
How we can help
If you’ve witnessed or experienced ASB, we’re here for you. Whether you want to provide a detailed account of an incident or report it anonymously, there are many support options available to you as a Livv customer.
