As National Apprenticeship Week comes to an end, we’ve loved sharing our past and present apprentices’ stories and showcasing the successes our programme continues to bring each year.

Yesterday, colleagues from our Learning and Development Team, along with apprentices, Tom and Jade, visited The Prescot School Careers Fair to help inspire young people and showcase some of the exciting opportunities open to them after leaving school.

Our team spent the day talking to students from years 7 to 11 about our amazing apprenticeship programme and what we have to offer as a business.

Our apprentices were on hand to provide first-hand insight into being an apprentice and how they’ve benefited from embarking on their apprenticeship journey, gaining new skills and knowledge while also experiencing day-to-day working life.

We spoke to Nicola Inman, a teacher at The Prescot School, who said,

“The careers fair is a great way for our students to have a real insight into what’s out there in the real world. They have the opportunity to speak to different organisations and understand what they can achieve once they leave. Events like this allow our students to set aspirations for themselves, think as big as possible and hopefully set out their future in the best way”.

We can’t wait to see what the future will bring for our apprenticeship programme as we continue kick-starting careers for young people across Knowsley!
