Local communities keep responding to the COVID-19 crisis with kindness, becoming a vital service to vulnerable people.

Smaller, local charities have always made a massive impact in our communities but are sometimes overlooked in favour of larger national organisations. Our People Fund was set up to give a helping hand to these local groups who need donations to continue their great work.

We’re delighted to be able to announce the latest funding recipients nominated by our staff and share the stories of these lockdown heroes:

 

Caring Connections

Caring Connections specialises in the provision of personalised care and support to vulnerable residents, aiming to improve levels of independence,  reduce social isolation and improve overall quality of life. They also aim to relieve stress experienced by carers of all ages who have caring responsibilities.

Vee’s Place

Vee’s Place make significant improvements in the lives of vulnerable people living in Prescot and Whiston. They directly tackle the problems they face and offer a number of targeted sessions including counselling, mentoring and leadership.

Down Syndrome Liverpool

Down Syndrome Liverpool provides a range of support to parents, carers and families to enrich the lives of young people and adults with Down Syndrome from Liverpool and the surrounding areas. They organise a regular monthly parent/carer and toddler group and provide up to date information on the best approaches to teaching children with Down Syndrome.
