We’ve awarded £71,750 to 14 local voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across Knowsley through our Livv in Your Community grant scheme. The funding will support a diverse range of projects designed to tackle social isolation, improve digital and social connectivity, and promote financial wellbeing.
Livv in Your Community empowers local organisations to deliver meaningful, community-led initiatives – from boxing and wellbeing walks to creative workshops and warm spaces – helping people stay connected and supported through the winter months.
Projects are running until March 2026, reaching communities across the borough where we have the most homes.
Among the funded initiatives is Evolving Mindset’s Wellbeing Wednesdays in Prescot, which offers a warm space, free meals and mental health support. Quirky Academy is delivering Brew and Brush, a series of creative morning workshops and breakfast sessions in Kirkby and Huyton.
In Kirkby, Centre 63 is supporting digital inclusion through its Get Connected programme, while Merseyside Housing and Debt Advice is delivering Click and Connect to help people get online.
Another project receiving funding is Box and Brew by Knowsley Vale Amateur Boxing Club, which combines non-contact boxing with social sessions.
Thank you for your support. This type of funding keeps not-for-profit organisations like ours alive.
Expanding Horizons is offering cultural and educational activities for older residents in Prescot, while Plus One Community Group is supporting parents, carers and pre-school children in Huyton with sessions and resources to help children thrive.
Wild Warrior Wellness is empowering women and families with regular wellbeing walks, yoga, and sharing circles.
These sessions will genuinely make such a huge difference to the ladies who attend. Thank you, Livv, for making it happen.
In Halewood, Explore Partnership is hosting creative workshops and advice drop-ins. And Torrington Drive Community Association is running its Helping Halewood winter support programme, offering weekly meals and social activities for children, families and older residents.
For anyone experiencing low mood, poor mental health or social isolation, Laugh for Life Comedy is delivering stand-up comedy lessons. Finally, across the borough, Kirkby Veterans Group, Friends of Eaton Street Park and An Hour for Others are providing warm spaces where residents can enjoy a hot drink and a chat.
Many of these initiatives have also involved local partners and services to provide valuable advice on finances and budgeting, healthy eating and mental wellbeing.
Tom Wilde, our Director of Community Investment & Engagement, commented: “As a housing provider rooted in Knowsley, social isolation, digital exclusion and financial hardship remain real challenges for many people living in our communities. That’s why we’re so pleased to bring back our Livv in Your Community grant scheme for the third year running.
“The organisations we’re supporting do incredible work every day to empower local people, and we hope this funding enables them to go even further and make an even greater difference. It’s truly heartening to see the positive impact these projects are already having on people’s lives.”
