We recently held an engagement event at Southdene Community centre about our plans for the site of Gaywood Green now the demolition has finished.
What did people like about the project?
- The plans looked a lot nicer than the flats that were there before
- people liked that there was lots of green space
- it looked safe with the focus on pedestrians
- the choice of homes that would be available, from 1 – 4-bedroom homes
- the different tenancy options available such as renting and paths to home ownership
- close to the park.
What did people have concerns about?
- The garages on site and the boundary walls
- if people in the flats could see into other people’s gardens.
We’ll make sure we address the concerns and come up with a solution that works for everyone.
What happens next?
We’re going to work on the design of the site and then submit our plans to the council to see what they think.
If things go to plan, we’ll appoint our builders and we’ll plan to be on site later this year.
